Our snacks are subject to regular quality controls
The SGS Institut Fresenius determines the nutritional values of DOKAS snack products at fixed intervals. In addition, all production sites undergo unannounced supplier audits twice a year.
Our voluntary testing programs ensure consistent quality, which we are allowed to visibly display on our products in the form of an imprint.
Quality - crucial for us
We also rely on the independent expertise of SGS Institut Fresenius in other areas - e.g. for the microbiological, chemical and physical declaration of products.
Composition and ingredients
Snacks play an important role in the diet of pets today. A reward or a treat between meals is now part of the diet of dogs and cats. A healthy diet is becoming increasingly important. For this reason, snacks should not only be tasty, i.e. highly acceptable, but also well tolerated and easy to handle. We are very careful when selecting ingredients and we work intensively on the optimum composition of our products.
The raw materials, the entire production process and the end product are also regularly checked. All companies producing for us are subject to strict inspection criteria to ensure compliance with the required quality standards (e.g. BRC, IFS).
Meat
Meat is one of the main ingredients in the diet of dogs and cats and is therefore also the basis of most of our snacks. Through careful selection and gentle processing, the high-quality nutrients such as proteins and fats can contribute to a species-appropriate diet for your pet.
Fish
Fish is a healthy and good alternative to our meat products. It has a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids. The omega-3 fatty acids can contribute to a shiny coat and healthy skin.
Giblets
Offal is a very popular food for dogs and cats and is an important source of vitamins and minerals. For a complete diet, offal should therefore be included in the daily diet and is not only a valuable addition to BARF.
Insects
Insects are a traditional part of the diet for around 1/4 of people worldwide. Many are even considered a real "delicacy". They not only provide high-quality proteins, but also valuable fatty acids and Minerals. The use of insects also contributes to climate and environmental protection.
Fruit & vegetables
As with humans, the vitamin and trace element content of fruit and vegetables has a positive effect on the well-being of four-legged friends. Selected varieties that are well tolerated by animals in appropriate quantities are therefore part of a varied and balanced diet for your pet. We therefore like to combine meat and fish with apple, banana, carrot and sweet potato.
Rose hip
Rosehip is rich in vitamin C and calcium. The additional kick of natural vitamin C contributes to cell protection and strengthens the function of bones and cartilage. The little vital substance bombs are also a high-quality addition to the diet.
Turmeric
Often referred to as turmeric, turmeric has been used as a natural remedy for thousands of years. The tuber, which belongs to the ginger family, is said to have a health-promoting effect. The antioxidants it contains can help to relieve inflammation.
Rice
Rice is rich in carbohydrates and therefore a good source of energy. It contains important Minerals and trace elements such as magnesium and zinc. Rice is very suitable as a light diet, e.g. for gastrointestinal disorders.
Derivatives of vegetable origin
These are products of plant origin from the processing of plant products such as vegetables or pulses. For technical production reasons, we only use high-quality raw materials. Contrary to various claims, we do not use inferior waste or fillers.
Beef hide
Our chews are made from beef hide. We attach great importance to traditional processing and a gentle manufacturing process. We usually combine them with other ingredients such as fish skin or meat to give the chews a special flavor, which ensures excellent acceptance by dogs. In addition, they are a useful activity for your favorite and suitable as a "toothbrush" for the dog.
Tip: Dogs that are regularly given bones leave unwanted "chewy objects" such as shoes, carpets and furniture alone.
Algae
The delicious kombu seaweed has been known and appreciated as a food for centuries. They are rich in nutrients and a valuable source of minerals such as iodine, and also contain vitamins that are important for a balanced diet.
Kelp algae have a broad spectrum of valuable nutrients and minerals, such as iodine, taurine, iron, calcium, magnesium and zinc, making them a valuable addition to any diet. The health benefits for dogs include balancing the immune system and promoting well-being. It can also prevent the formation of tartar in dogs.
Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS)
Fructo-oligosaccharides are found in various types of fruit and vegetables such as beet and bananas. They are indigestible carbohydrates and serve as food for certain intestinal bacteria. This promotes the growth of "desirable" bacteria while reducing the formation of "undesirable" microorganisms. Their use can strengthen the intestinal flora and improve digestion. FOS are among the prebiotic nutrients.
Mannan oligosaccharides (MOS)
Extracted from yeast cell walls, they are considered complex carbohydrate compounds. MOS can stimulate the body's own immune system in a natural way. They support the multiplication of healthy intestinal bacteria and interrupt the attachment of harmful bacteria to the intestinal wall. A regular intake of MOS can help to keep the bacterial colonization of the intestine in a healthy balance.
L-carnitine
L-carnitine is an amino acid derivative that plays an important role in energy metabolism. It transports fatty acids into the "power plants" of the cells so that they can be used for energy production. The main natural sources include meat, such as beef and lamb.
Minerals
Collagen
Collagen is a structural protein. We use collagen from cattle for our snacks. It is a natural component of bones, tendons and skin. It can have a positive effect on the musculoskeletal system, skin and coat.
Vegetable glycerine
Glycerine is found in all natural oils and fats. We only use vegetable glycerine from renewable raw materials. Its advantage is that it binds moisture, which keeps our snacks fresh for a long time.
Yeast
Yeast is rich in protein and has a high biological value. The animal's body can therefore utilize the yeast protein well. Another advantage of yeast is that it contains valuable vitamins and Minerals , which are needed to nourish the skin cells and therefore also the coat.
Salt
Dogs need salt in particular to produce hydrochloric acid in the stomach and to maintain nerve function. Hydrochloric acid production in the stomach is in turn necessary for meat digestion. It also contains important Minerals. We only use small amounts
Trust is good, control is better.
We are very careful during production and handle raw materials with care. We also attach great importance to modern production techniques, the use of up-to-date analysis and testing methods and compliance with standards in a global value chain.
Product development
We always want to be one paw ahead in the development of our snacks.
We therefore only have our products manufactured in production facilities that are inspected by independent institutes and meet our high quality standards. We also rely on close and open cooperation with our partners to create a basis of trust.
"Standing still is a step backwards". That is why we are constantly working to improve our processes and products.
Our clear commitment
We attach great importance to compliance with standards in a global value chain. To ensure safety, our production facilities are certified in accordance with the IFS Food and BRC Food Standards.
